Leon Lai Tin Long

Leon Lai is a Hong Kong born Violist who obtained his Master of Performance in the Royal College of Music-Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts programme in 2025 under Dr. Tan Wee Hsin, he has also previously studied under Bryony Gibson Cornish, Eivind Ringstad, Rebecca Chambers, Simon Rowland-Jones and Sergey Fatkulin.

 

He has been actively freelancing in various ensembles in Singapore, including The Philharmonic Orchestra, Musician’s initiative and The Purple Symphony. 

 

His interest of music also lead him to gradually start studying composition under Dr. Goh Toh Chai, in order to expand and refine his own musical expressions. He premiered his own work, Appassionato for Viola and Piano in B minor, in his final year recital in 2023. This endeavour in composition has also lead him to orchestrate and arrange music by other composers.
