Kuek Jia Xin

Kuek Jia Xin began her journey on the double bass at the age of 17 with the Nanyang Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra (NYPSO). She went on to pursue her music studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) under the NAFA–RCM (Royal College of Music) joint programme.

Throughout her studies, Jia Xin enriched her musical experience by attending masterclasses with renowned international soloist Mikyung Sung, Yang Zheng Yi (SSO Acting Principal Bassist), and Karen Yeo (SSO Associate Bassist). During her seven-week exchange at the Royal College of Music, she had the opportunity to perform alongside members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and studied under Enno Senft, Principal Bassist and founding member of the ensemble.
 

In addition to her academic pursuits, Jia Xin actively contributes to music education as a CCA instructor and continues to perform regularly with local ensemble groups such as re:Sound Collective, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Musicians’ Initiative, and re: mix. She remains committed to deepening her artistry and sharing her passion for music through performance and teaching.
