My Biography
Teh Chia Hui is a graduate from Diploma in Viola Performance student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
Under the tutelage of Janice Tsai, she has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication. Chia Hui has earned a place on the Dean’s List for five consecutive semesters, a testament to her academic and artistic excellence. Additionally, she has been awarded scholarships for both her second and third years in the Diploma program, further recognizing her outstanding achievements in music.
Throughout her studies, Chia Hui has actively participated in a variety of performances and competitions, showcasing her versatility as a musician. She has performed in numerous events such as the NAFA Library Potpourri Concert, the Music Platform, and the NAFA Concert Series, engaging in solo, chamber, and orchestral performances. She was also one of the finalists in the NAFA String Competition 2025.
Additionally, she has had the opportunity to perform with esteemed ensembles, including the NAFA Orchestra and The Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore. During these performances, Chia Hui worked with renowned conductors like Lim Yau and Lin Juan, exploring a wide range of repertoires. Moreover, she has benefited from valuable learning experiences in master classes and performance classes, having studied under distinguished mentors such as Guan Qi, Chan Yoong-Han, Nikolai Koval, Dr. Tan Wee Hsin, and Dr. Nicholas Ong.
In addition to her studies, Chia Hui has had the privilege of performing with several external orchestras, including the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra, the Emmanuel Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, and the RondoFest Festival Orchestra. These experiences have allowed her to collaborate with exceptional musicians and conductors, such as George Harliono and Dr. Lien Boon Hua.
Chia Hui has also been involved in prominent music festivals, including the RondoFest and Singapore Chamber Music Festival. At these festivals, she had the opportunity to receive coaching from renowned musicians from various chamber music groups, including Edward Tan from the Concordia Quartet and Jonathan Ong from the Verona Quartet. Furthermore, she has actively participated in various music festivals and masterclasses, learning from distinguished musicians such as Bas Treub, Sara Maria Gonzales, Anastasia Feruleva, and Timur Yakubov.
