Elton Teo Kai Jie

Elton Teo Kai Jie is a dedicated and experienced music educator and cellist, with a strong background in both Western and Chinese orchestral traditions. He holds a Diploma in Music from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), and completed his Bachelor of Music degree (Cello Performance) at NAFA in collaboration with the Royal College of Music.

With over 8 years of teaching experience, Elton is a qualified MOE and AMIS instructor. He has taught in various primary and secondary schools across Singapore, serving as a cello instructor and ensemble coach for both string and Chinese orchestras. His current teaching appointments include Xishan Primary School, Mayflower Primary School, Frontier Primary School, and more. He has led student groups in multiple Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) presentations, with recent accolades including Distinction and Accomplishment awards in 2024.

Elton is passionate about making music education accessible and engaging. He conducts enrichment programmes in violin, cello, and ukulele, tailoring lessons to inspire and develop young musicians.

Beyond the classroom, Elton is an active freelance performer. He has performed with a variety of ensembles, including The Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra, Musicians’ Initiative, and New Opera Singapore. His broad orchestral experience spans Western classical, Chinese traditional, and contemporary works.

Elton brings a nurturing and structured approach to his teaching, blending technical proficiency with a love for music that motivates his students to grow in both skill and confidence.
